Partnering with Leading Clients: Case Studies and Projects
Mediacom Communications Corp
Provided project management and staff augmentation to execute the complete network replacement of over 1200 network nodes and managed the entire $86 million FCC funded Huawei to Cisco migration as mandated by the FCC.
Traversed a legacy infrastructure to determine all services still utilizing the infrastructure and move the services to a VRF across the multi-service core network and decommissioned the legacy infrastructure.
Led the IP Network engineering for a regional cable provider making a transition from third-party telephony services to 100% internal carrier services. Activities included design of internal voice service centers for local LEC handoff and LD, IP network augmentation, and the configuration and provisioning of 500+ existing and 50 new network nodes.
Raytheon Technologies Inc.
Led and defined the proof-of-concept, pilot, and productization of a solution specific network hardware device to enable Layer-2 only communication to traverse a Layer-3 network.
Productization included network process selection, compilation of custom linux OS, modification of linux drivers, and a custom mesh network provisioning service.
Incomm Communications
Performed network assessment, cleanup, upgrade, and maintenance in a hands-on operations role. Standardized configurations for security, access, and NTP across a Juniper MX, EX and SRX network.
Turned up BGP sessions with customers & transits. Designed NTP scheme for consistent time services across network.
Buckeye Telecommunications
Developed the architecture, product structure, billing elements, platform selection, and financial models of a 4-state metropolitan Ethernet infrastructure to support Voice, Video, and Data services for a Regional Cable operator to aggregate infrastructure services and save 22% of infrastructure operating costs.
Provided mid-transition, emergency troubleshooting and resolution path of a disaggregated CMTS deployment to identify network issues causing intermittent services outages for migrated DOCSIS spans.
Dish Networks
Drove the procurement of 3rd party transport services to meet the needs of the fronthaul, mid-haul, and backhaul segments of a greenfield 3GPP 5G network in the US for both dark fiber and MPLS EVPL services.
Suddenlink (now Altice)
Defined the technical approach and project managed the logical migration of Fiber-to-the-Tower (FTTT) services provided to wireless carriers from a single backhaul EVC to redundant EVCs across separate physical and logical paths between the Tower and the MTSO Handoff location. The required timeline was extremely tight – targeting the migration of 1,000 towers in less than 6 months. In order to address the tight timelines, OTA developed a project specific tool to manage the collected and normalized data and to programmatically create the router configuration changes needed to consistently and reliably migrate 35 – 50 towers per migration night.
Defined TDM interconnection and TDM backhaul architecture for an MSO’s Go It Alone project that leveraged both leased circuits and IP CEM services over packet data networks for 600,000 VoIP customers.
